Shirakawago is often picked up in media and well-known.

It has been used for scene of manga and animation which is high profile.
There are many tourists in Summer and winter.

Gokayama is also the same world heritage, but its famousness is not so higher than Shirakawa-go.

Gokayama is small and quiet and rustic.
